Nisekoi Review

The 20 episode ride is over but the amusement is still open, I hear they added a FIFTH rollercoaster.

Only now do I realize that the absurdly screwed up version of Romeo and Juliet basically sums up the entire series. Anyways, first series review of the Spring season while others have 3-4 weeks to finish up. I’d think most people would catch my impression of the series after 20 weeks of coverage but I might as well take this chance to talk about the manga’s status as well.

So here we go folks, it’s Nisekoi’s time to step to the plate.

Nisekoi Episode 17- Traditional wear galore

From what I’m hearing, the next episode is going to involve everyone taking a trip and the antics that follow group outings. No judgement here but like I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if second season hits the corner. On the manga scene, Golden Week takes its toll and we not no new chapter. The previous chapter however did hint at something but I doubt we’ll have any sort of closer soon. God help me to prove me wrong cause the series isn’t bad but it can quickly become worse if this drags on even more.

3 weeks left to see what the fate of the anime series holds. We had Marika and Ondera being focused on for a bit so now we move back to the bigger pantheon of characters.

Nisekoi Episode 15- Don’t be a fool to think these keys will have any relevance in the next 70 chapters

More antics with Marika. They’ve got 5 episodes to get a major arc in to finish strong and like I said before, I don’t remember the manga enough to recall anything big after Marika’s introduction. I don’t plan on looking for myself since the manga is seriously trying to introduce a new heroine and bring back the key+lock storyline I forgot about it.

On other news, a rather beloved manga ended this week. TWGOK officially ended with (highlight to see) Chihiro. I personally stopped reading during the Bite The Dust/Groundhog Day sequence with young Keima repeating days so I can’t really talk about it fully. Only reason I’m mentioning this is that I wonder if Nisekoi is actually going to HAVE an end at this point…Who the hell introduces another girl 110+ chapters in? Watch when they go so far as to introduce a Korean gangster girl to the chaos. Doubtful joke because us Koreans will probably take offense if any generalizations are made about us (its happened before).

Enough complaining though. We got loads of Marika being moe so get hype.

Nisekoi Episode 14- Wife Material Reporting In

Well she’s finally here.

She sure has some initiative for a character who had 20 minutes of screentime. Then again, that’s not really going to matter in the manga because we still got a lot of chapters to go. Hell I think they introduced yet another tease for Raku in form of his dad’s younger girlfriend who plans to live at his house. Cohabitation antics galore. (She’s their new homeroom teacher no less)

It’s not really a spoiler since they just reminded me that the lock is still relevant.

That aside, let’s dig in.

Warning: Loads of Marika ahead

Nisekoi Episode 8: More Tsugumi!

So the announcement says that Nisekoi will have 20 episodes, fun fun fun.

The harem adds one more to its roster and now we get a bit more development with a “plot” point at the very end. I’ll tell you all right now that even after the events of this episode and the rest to come, know that even after 100+ chapters, we still have no idea which key is the one for Raku’s necklace. So don’t get your hopes up.

But enough of that, let’s just get to talking about the reverse trap

Nisekoi Episode 7: Totsuka Saika is a real girl

Chalk up one more member into the growing love comedy harem.

Okay so I really did end up catching up to the manga and I’ll just say there isn’t really anything “big” that happens thus far. It would be unwise for the author to focus on just one girl since that would kill sales and alienate a bunch of fans that root for their favorite character. I don’t want make myself seem like some analysists but if anything, I’ll just say pull a Ichigo 100 if one person has to win it.

Anyways, let’s just talk about that new member shall we?
