Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 39- Goodbye Morioh

And that’s all folks.

And Merry Christmas

Whereas the final Volume of Part 4 (Volume 47) was halved to feature the next Jojo, the way that DP handled the ending to the series really hammered down the feel of the homely town of Morioh. While a few visual hiccups, just a handful, were present, I think the music and the line delivery were at their very best and I can confidently say that the adaptation wasn’t a disappointment. Congratulations David Productions, you’re going 4 for 4.

Will most likely do an overall recap on my thoughts of the adaptation sometime soon.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 36- That Opening Though

So far so good. The finale has yet to reach any scenes of serious awkwardness in its visual quality for me to really complain on anything about. This week’s intro was also radically changed to fit the Bites the Dust saga with varying amounts of time fuckery, music distortion, and utilizing the final chorus from the full version of Great Days. I personally wouldn’t have minded something a bit more simpler to listen to but I’m glad they bothered to change it.

It’s kind of surreal to think that the series is quickly coming to an end. This is one of my favorite parts, but to be fair, any Part after Part 3 are amazing in their own way in the whole Stand deal. I can only hope for Vento Aureo’s announcement to happen around the Spring and maybe air next Fall.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 34- Beginning of the End

To my exact fears, the panel I so wanted to see animated turned out to be a disappointment. Not a complete disappointment because the act itself is cool as all hell but it just looked wonky as hell. The entire scene with Kira talking to the girl after blowing up her boyfriend looked so off but just the context of that scene enough didn’t completely make me hate it since it’s a damn cool scene anyway. Whereas I didn’t really need to review Part 3’s adaptation all that much, Part 4’s review might just be more than praises being thrown out.

But to be fair, this is what modern day Bluray releases are for so maybe there’s something better coming along.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 25- Kira’s Family

It’s surprising to think how we only have a few more episodes left of Part 4. That announcement for Part 5 can’t come soon enough. I also hear that we might get a new opening around the 30th of this month too so I can’t wait for that. Another stellar episode that went through Atom Heart Father quite fast and RPS Boy for next week will quickly move us to the much awaited Highway Star fight.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 24- Kira’s Day

Without a shadow of doubt, this episode delivered all of the manga’s great scenes with excellent music choice, voice acting, and impressive animation. A perfect way to kick off the 2nd half of the series with Kira’s escape and identity swap with our apparent loser, Kawajiri Kosaku. From the looks of it, Atom Heart Father is only one episode too so we’ll be back with Kira before you even know it.

Let’s get to this

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 16- Sniper Rats

By the time this already goes up, Kira’s voice and appearance should be revealed.

I know I’ve said this numerous times during Stardust Crusaders but I really have to hand it to David Productions for being able to turn nearly every segment of the manga chapters into something entertaining, concise, and accurate. If my memory serves correctly, Part 4 is scheduled for around 30-35ish episodes and we’re already around the half-way point to it, and as a avid fan of the series, I doubted that around 30 episodes would be enough. Seeing as how the Nijimura Brothers arc took 3 episodes, my doubts were definitely there. But now that we’re here, with around half left, I’m starting to think it’s pretty possible for Part 4 to end on a decent pacing schedule. More on that later so let’s get to the damn rats already and how David took an already strangely exciting mini-arc and got it done nicely in an episode.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 1-2: Fridays are Great Again

I’m a week late but the opening is finally here this week, Jojo Fridays are back and now features the most happy sounding song for the series.

Unlike Part 3, I was looking forward to Part 4’s animation for quite some time and I can’t tell you how happy I was to see it come to light. While I had a handful of fights I looked forward to in Part 3, Part 4 and onwards have entire lists with fantastic fights and with Episode 2 already done, it only gets better from here.

But what I need to feel to clarify for anime-only viewers is the nature of Jojo’s progression now. Part 4 is considered a “Slice of Life” section of Jojo now and the new opening completely reflects its somewhat everyday-occurrence style pattern of meeting other people in town.
