Torturing myself every season has its fun parts when I get to laugh with my friends on how bad these are.
Every season I need my dose of generally mediocre adaptation of a light novel series that more than often is a harem series. There was a joke going around that Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance would be the series that would kill and succeed the likes of Infinite Stratos and Date A Live. Now, the former can be outdone by nearly any sort of harem but some of you should know I hold DAL in some respectable regard. Seeing as though Blade Dance had 10+ volumes and how Light had been keeping up with it, I generally though it wouldn’t be bad.
I was sort of wrong.

Even more foolish things are afoot with Jio Edgemaster Inzagi out of the picture. Something about more experimentation with cursed seal spirits and the green hair elf-lady being involved with Velsaria.
It surely wasn’t as entertaining but oh well.

With only 2-3 episodes to go, I can only imagine how rush things will become.
While anime-only endings rarely happen from the shows I’ve at least seen, they’re probably going to go through with yet another arc during the titular Blade Dance event going on at the end. I haven’t read the light novels (nor do I feel like I should) so I wouldn’t know on how grand a scale on how they can try and cram it all in.
Mini’s are getting more frequent.

You couldn’t get more cliche than this.
Also, what the hell is the series going to do now with the only other male elementalist getting detained at the end? Another thing, do the subbers really have to call it Elemantalers? Why can’t it just be Elementalist?
They also did the most cliche thing ever in this episode too. I thought Kamito was decent enough for handling the possessive girls but then he pulls the “We’re strong because we’re a team!” thing and I just had to stop the episode and take a breather before continuing.
Hell the fight with Jio was pathetic too. Restia shows up in blade form but he gets wrecked anyway.

It’s kind of sad to see how such simplistic fights take place in a series called Blade Dance. Then again, this series is all about the girls instead of actual fighting. Strange to see IS and DAL pull off more action sequences than this.
Anyways, the episode features harem antics, slight interactions with Fianna, and some weak fighting.

What’s the point of introducing a character who actually has some (albeit, overdone) connection to the main character in the past and not making her the focus of this episode? I mean I understand getting into some more character traits but still, I wanted some more of new girl.
Anyways, as I mentioned, a new girl joins the harem but we only see her at the beginning and end.

So what I assumed to be actual character development with a death of a dear friend just negated itself and we’re back to the regular stuff. More fighting going on but it’s honestly not that amazing to watch.
Well at least we got an actual kiss instead of the usual harem crew ganging up on Kami-
Oh wait that happens too.
You can already tell that the quality of posts for this series from me will only plummet unless they do something different.
