Boku no Hero Academia S3- Enter the New Era

It only now occurred to me how that was the season’s ending, guess they couldn’t kill someone off for shock value when they’ll probably do it the opening 5 minutes of the next season.

Oh you didn’t know? Season 4 already got announced much to my surprise but I guess the Overhaul Arc is pretty long for an entire season to be based around it. Seeing as though we’ll have ourselves a break from BnHA for just a little bit, let’s talk about Season 3.

Boku no Hero Academia Episode 60&61- The Fight we’ve waited for

It finally happened.

From the onset of the series, Deku and Bakugo’s relationship has been a point of contention that many people hated the one-sidedness of its dynamic and this is something that even I wondered how to approach as even after all they’ve been through, the two never never had a heart to heart. Imagine my reaction when this internal fever pitch reached its edge and the two just had to duke it out but thankfully without too much lethal intent.

And look at the ending too, we’re getting those three to show up. How far are we going to go with this season I wonder.

Boku no Hero Academia Episode 57&59- Lightspeed Rescue

The provisional license exam continues onto the rescue portion of the heroing business.

I ended up giving in to the fact that I’ll continue to need two episodes to cover for episodes involving this arc but with Episode 58 being an original, I don’t think I’ll be covering that. I mentioned before that I wasn’t too keen on this arc compared to the bombshell that was AfO vs. All Might but next week’s preview definitely triggered a memory and I actually know what’s coming next. At the very least I can look forward to that before we enter a rather long arc with Mirio and Overhaul that I think we won’t even see animated for quite a while.

Boku no Hero Academia Episode 55&56- Split Up

And sure enough, I lazed around on Thursday and Friday and got this up late to make it a two-feature. I had this fully written up on Friday but decided that I was already too late on it and decided to wait.

I’m seeing a bit more dips in quality but I guess it’s only natural seeing as though it’s a double-length seasonal show.

Boku no Hero Academia Episode 53&54- The Not-Chunin Exams

I know that the popular comparison to BnHA’s Chunin Exams would be the sports festival in the early-game-multi-character-development arc but circumstance wise, the Provisional License exams definitely fit the bill a lot more since it involves moving up in the hero society compared to the free self-promotion the Sports Festival was.

Boku no Hero Academia Episode 51&52- A Fresh New Goal

Well it took a couple weeks but we’re back with more BnHA. I’m guessing they will conclude this season up until they reach Nighteye and Mirio and lord knows how long Season 4 till take but it isn’t too far off to think a single cour for the Internship Arc can take place with Chisaki and all that.

But man, I am not feeling that new opening too much. Wonder how long it’ll take me to come around to it. Even the ending’s animations look a bit jank. Not much to cover in this episode and to be honest, I think I glossed over the early bits of this arc but if I remember correctly, there should be another scene that I’m looking forward to happen before the season ends.

Boku no Hero Academia Episode 50- Cooldown

Will it end by the Provisional Exam arc or maybe even the Internship Arc? I believe I mentioned this before but BnHA’s chapter to episode ratio isn’t all that enormous compared to other big manga adaptations. The first big saga has come to a close with AfO’s fights and now it’s more pro hero work with the provisional license exams pitting the students against other schools before the Internship Arc begins and we move onto to the rather lengthy Overhaul storyline featuring Nighteye, Mirio, and the titular Overhaul.
