Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure- Vento Aureo Episode 19: True Resolve

Now this episode delivered. Whereas the final portions of Beach Boy and Grateful Dead were cut a bit short and undermined the proper development Pesci went through, White Album’s fight was short, sweet, and just as hype. Mista and Giorno’s ability synergy will be showcased again in a later fight but this is probably my preferred fight between the two.

We’re almost 20 episodes in and already nearly past the half-way point and I realize that I personally don’t have too much else to look forward to in Part 5. With Grateful Dead/Beach Boy and White Album animated, only King Crimson’s skip time bullshit is the only thing I got left since the latter half of Part 5 isn’t exactly as strong as the beginning. I’ll still be sticking with it but I hope the anime production staff keeps up the seal of quality that they have been doing so far.

Melone only lasted up to half of the episode.

And the more I hear Ghihaccio talk the happier I am to keep in mind how this is Bakugo’s voice screaming about semantics. I have to say that Vento Aureo is doing an amazing job weaving multiple arcs together and they certainly wasted no time moving past Melone and covering a good half of the White Album fight. While a great fight, it is rather short since we only got one guy to deal with compared to the whopping 3-parter Prosciutto and Pesci got.

I’ll be honest.

Babyface lies between two of my favorite fights in this entire part and I’ve gone back to read those said fights so much that I kind of forgot what Babyface’s fight involved aside from Melone being creepy and using a computer-stand to create a Stand after harassing some poor woman. I forgot its powers were this scary after it came to be.

It’s time for what is perhaps my favorite fight in Jojo

Well, at least we’re setting up for it. I’ve shared my passion for fights on trains be it in any medium but what makes this stand fight special to me is that Prosciutto and Pesci probably go through the most amount of development a Jojo mook villain can go through. Given the rough pace of these episodes, I would say this fight will go for at least two more episodes.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure- Vento Aureo Episode 13: Say Good Night

So here I was thinking I’d have to do double the episodes since I was preoccupied for most of last week but good news and bad news abound. The good news being that I don’t have to pull double duty after all since Episode 14 would have marked a new season for other non-multi cour shows so instead we got a recap episode that really doesn’t need coverage. The bad news is that I have to wait a few more days to watch what might be my favorite fight in Jojo ever and certainly it’s my favorite fight from Part 5 be finally animated.

Let’s see if Fugo does anything else after this in this adaptation.

I’ll be the one to say that I’m not 100% on Fugo’s backstory.

On one hand, they added more details to a rather ambiguous plot of Fugo that was to be later elucidated on his own spin-off novel but I feel like that said ambiguity in Fugo’s past only added to emphasize his unstable temper. Back in the original publications, the tidbit of Fugo’s past that was of interest was that he beat his instructors with a heavy book during his school years which caused him to be ostracized which led to where he is now. The anime however added a touch of pedophilia to the instructor Fugo straightened up so it makes his anger justified, although still reprehensible by law. I don’t quite agree with this sort of characterization since Fugo was completely in the right to beat up his instructor while the off-shoot novel made it so that the instructor made fun of his grandmother who he respected which triggered the beat down. I definitely prefer the violent outburst that way with an insult taken too far instead of Fugo directly trying to defend himself since that drives the point home on his inner violence compared to the justified decision Fugo got to doing while simultaneously being accosted for it.

The deductive ability of Jojo’s mook villains are really something to be noticed.

I imagined we’d get the Assassination squad to be introduced next week but damn, they went ahead and gave us a preview of all them this week. Even Nero showed up at the back with Melone and Ghihaccio in tow. Makes sense for Pesci to not be around since Prosciutto is the getting the logistics for now. I cannot wait for that Grateful Dead fight, man.

Also, I imagined Pericolo’s voice to be a bit lighter than but this works way better.
