Date A Live II Review: Buy the Blu-Ray Edition

Note: I will not count Episode 1 as part of this series. Ever.

While I said that I would talk about Episode 10 and then do a series recap, I just decided to tackle the entire thing in one package.

Date A Live to me is a guilty pleasure. Scratch that, I just love it. I learned of this series through the artist and I can’t help myself in loving this series even with its shortcomings. Everyone has that one series they can forgive and this happens to be mine. That being said, some people were understandably disappointed with Season 2 since it chugged through the light novel material and left little time for any sort of “dates” to dote on the pretty girls.

Coming from a guy who read the light novels, I was forgiving on the series since I knew exactly what to expect. So while I am biased toward the series in general, that still doesn’t excuse the 2nd season for some flaws here and there.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders Episode 11- He’s in the chrome of the steering wheel!

Thus concludes one of my favorite “fights” in Part 3.

From what Enya and Rubber Soul told us, we only have a few more Tarot Stands after the Joestar crew. Looking on the episode count though, I’d say it’s very certain we’ll get one more season full of episodes since by the time we reach Egypt, we still got a few more fights before we reach DIO. Hell, that fight should take arond 2-3 episodes too since it’s two fights in one.

Anyways, let’s get to the Emperor and the Hanged Man Part 2.

Music of the Week #141

Soon.

Work ended late and I took a nap before going out for an extremely late dinner so I completely forgot about this week’s post. So as you can see, it’s a day late.

Black Bullet will be bundled with next week’s episode mostly because it’s an emotion with nothing but emotion going on there’s not much for me to write about that’s worthwhile for posting. There wasn’t a fight, only Rentaro’s sense of justice being heavily shaken. When the fighting inevitably happens next week, the recap will be posted. Date A Live II ends this week and I’ll be giving Episode 10 a post while doing a series review early next week. Jojo will truck through without hesitations.

I picked up Hitsugi no Chaika on Monday and by yesterday I was completely caught up. I’ll be honest: I regret not covering it weekly but oh well, it has a second season airing Fall so that’ll be my chance. I’ll speak more of Chaika once it ends so look foward to that.

Everything nears its end, so prepare for Summer. Speaking of Summer, it was chilly as hell two days ago.

Continuing the Champloo chill-train, here’s the 3rd ending. That opening scene still reminds me why I still cherish this series even with its shortcomings. This is Love Song, the ending for Episode 17.

Date A Live II Episode 9- So Much Ellen

Got Metal Gear Rising and absolutely loving every second of it…until Armstrong’s Blade mode portion that wrecks my shit everytime. Feels bad man, a boss hasn’t given me this much trouble since Darklurker. Hell it ain’t even his regular attacks that get me, it’s that damn blade mode portion that takes 100 damage. And as I say that, I end up beating him after a good 2 hours.

Back on track though, time for the penultimate episode of Date A Live II episode where not too many things happen until they very end. We get Miku’s extremely short backstory on why she acts like she does and a small scene outside of the DEM building with Ellen and Origami who ends up being useless. Speaking of Ellen, there were so many good shots of her this episode. Continue reading Date A Live II Episode 9- So Much Ellen

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders Episode 10- The Gun is mightier than the Sword

At this rate, I REALLY think we’re not going to have just 24-26 episodes. My long awaited fight finally arrives on the bigscreen/monitor as the Crusaders reach India and have a fight that will take them a while to recover from. This is the first of the two-parter Stand fight scheme that will show up every now and then so let’s not waste anytime here folks.

Tears of both sadness and laughter will be brought down upon your faces, prepare yourselves for a two-part ride through India.

Black Bullet Episode 8&9- Nobody important died. That’s a good thing right?

You thought things would cool down? Think again, this Black Bullet. Where the bullets are obviously black, the loli’s are strong as shit, and the edge is sharper than the WWE star.

I hear the series only gets worse in terms of how Rentaro ends up in his circumstances. Plus I’m hearing a lot of stuff about Tina too. I won’t spoil anything because people seem to really love Tina here. I’ll just say that I’m glad I like Kisara more than anyone else in this series.

Anyway let’s stop trying to foreshadow bad things. This is going to be short as I’m not good at describing a little girl who pours out her heart in one episode. Much less two episodes of only slow pacing, which is good in some cases.

Knowing how this series works, it would be good to not get too attached to any characters.

The hype is back

champloo2

Black Bullet will be bundled. Episode 8 was finished up on Sunday but I thought it was too short. Since by the time I would be putting it up would be the day before Episode 9 aired, I decided to keep it all in one place and release it on Thursday

Work is going fine and my labtop will soon come. I have the entirety of the PS2 gamefiles to run Galaxy Angel II and my hype to get back into League and DotA 2 are at an all time high. Might even end up buying Metal Gear Rising. To add to all of this, I’m playing through Dark Souls II again after Platinuming it last Sunday to prepare for the DLC coming out. The gaming void finally seems to be at its end.

Other than that, season’s nearly over and I’m sad to see Date A Live go, it was getting so good too. Jojo is picking up speed with one of my favorite fights in Part 3 coming up this Friday too.

We’re continuing the Champloo train with Who’s Theme, the 2nd version of the usual ending
