Music of the Week #135

Change of plans

???????????????

So let’s get a few things in order. Black Bullet hasn’t been covered since last week and that’s what I’m going to be on working on today to get both episode 3 and 4 covered for tomorrow, that way I’m basically caught up. Other than that, we got the full weekend package deal I’ve actually been keeping up with for the past month.

I unexpectedly got back into Galaxy Angel a few weeks back when the computer died and initially planned to take this surge of motivation to play to fuel my efforts in covering it. Unfortunately, the need to play outscaled the need to cover and I ended playing a lot more than I wanted to cover. To put it simply and cleanly, I’m quitting on coverage but that should be no surprise to any of you. However, I love the series too damn much to let it end there. I’ll basically put up my thoughts on the entire first trilogy and pour out my love for the game whilst crying about how I won’t be able to play the second trilogy as easily. Look foward to that. Hell, might even have some music from the series be on the Wednesday feature.

Other than that folks, look foward to what’s to come.

This week’s theme continues from last week. This is 1/2, the second opening for Rurouni Kenshin.

Nisekoi Episode 16- The Sweetest of them all

So I’m basically telling all of you anime-only people what’s going on with the manga every week. The elusive key returns as a plot device and surprise, the new girl happens to be involved in all of the “we met eachother in the past” thing. Jesus christ, everyone in this series must have some memory problems. How can they forget such an important topic? Especially when it might involve polygamy?

Anyways, as if to counter the amount of Marika-moe we got, Onodera hits me with a left-hook from left-field as we get a pure Ondera episode today.

So ignoring the fangasming going on in my Skype call with one of my friends, let’s get this show on the road.

Date A Live II Episode 3- Double the Spirits, Double the fanservice

I feared the adaptation of the following scenes because I knew it would mean some serious amounts of screencap hunting. Not that I have any problems with fanservice that but DAMN, this is around Light’s level of screencap (if you even remember him). What makes it even worse is that they’re twins, and being the person I am, I require both their screencaps and the corresponding picture of the other twin as well. What I just said may not make sense so to put it simply: the twins essentially double the amount of pics unless they’re together for a lot of the scenes. Anyways, my LN to Anime adaptation senses tell me that the twins arc will be over next episode. Explanations will be brief but will be at the end.

So, prepare for fanservice folks

and make it double

Body aches

???????????????

Was out of the house for Wednesday for a trip and sores inhibited from posting on Thursday. I already posted Jojo thinking that I already posted this before it, oh well. It’s a straightfoward week folks, Jojo is already posted, DAL is prepped up for tomorrow, and Black Bullet + Nisekoi will be up after that as well. Black Bullet comes out Tuesdays but it’s hard to focus when it’s not close to the weekend.

Dark Souls II is moving through me again while I get hype with my buddy on UMVC3. Other than that, I might go play some more Galaxy Angel if I get bored of those sooner or later. Might even buy GTA V since I still really want to play it.

Nothing else to say about this other than to look foward to the Date A Live post since it has a shit ton of pictures.

Well throwbacks all the way folks, I forgot to put up some themes with Rurouni Kenshin. This week, it’s Sobakasu: Rurouni Kenshin’s first opening. Here’s the original and the sick jazz version by Platina Jazz. (Extra Korean version too!)

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders Episode 4- Another Plane Crashed

Joseph got called Dandy

The bizarre adventure finally starts and we get a glimpse of what’s to come. Recent Bluray news basically confirm a 24-26 episode run but with the pace we’re going at, I doubt we will get there. If anything, they might as well make a 12 episode seperate series when they finally arrive in Egypt. I said finally because a quick plane ride to Egypt ain’t happening folks. We’ve got a “Defeat the Vampire in 50 Days” journey going on that’ll make Jules Verne himself pose.

Did I mention it was slow-paced? It’s a good thing I suppose. They haven’t cut too many things out but they might have to.

Let’s get to it, fellow Crusaders

Nisekoi Episode 15- Don’t be a fool to think these keys will have any relevance in the next 70 chapters

More antics with Marika. They’ve got 5 episodes to get a major arc in to finish strong and like I said before, I don’t remember the manga enough to recall anything big after Marika’s introduction. I don’t plan on looking for myself since the manga is seriously trying to introduce a new heroine and bring back the key+lock storyline I forgot about it.

On other news, a rather beloved manga ended this week. TWGOK officially ended with (highlight to see) Chihiro. I personally stopped reading during the Bite The Dust/Groundhog Day sequence with young Keima repeating days so I can’t really talk about it fully. Only reason I’m mentioning this is that I wonder if Nisekoi is actually going to HAVE an end at this point…Who the hell introduces another girl 110+ chapters in? Watch when they go so far as to introduce a Korean gangster girl to the chaos. Doubtful joke because us Koreans will probably take offense if any generalizations are made about us (its happened before).

Enough complaining though. We got loads of Marika being moe so get hype.

Black Bullet Episode 1-2: Aria minus the tsun=Acceptable

Yuki Kaiji now has a chance to make himself not be a crappy protagonist. Alibaba doesn’t count because Aladdin is more of a protagonist (and he suffers less). Black Bullet is the series that eliminated other series in my watch list because it got to me first in terms of filing out the tropes list. That being said we have: Half-decent protagonist who isn’t useless, Loli who isn’t annoying as hell, Rikiya Koyama voicing the villain, and general monster killing.

So sorry other series, Black Bullet was the first to get watched and made an ever so slight change in my viewing needs to compensate my apparent losses. So let’s see where this ends up, Mahou Sensou left a bad taste in my mouth and while it won’t be hard to top it, I would like a decent series while I’m cleaning my palette.
