Galaxy Angel: Touring the Ship

Welcome to the second part of the Summer coverage of the GA trilogy. Currently, the first game is being problematic as it doesn’t allow Alt-tabbing or windowed mode so screencaps will be annoying to get. It was working completely fine with alt-tabbing during the first session of coverage but now it’s just being stupid. Thankfully, the other games are perfectly fine with it so I’ll have an easier time with them.

Chapter 1 had us introduced to everyone and the first half of Chapter 2 is going around the ship meeting everyone and knowing what they usually do. So that’s why I decided to split up the chapter into two parts.

I’m still getting used referring to us as just you and me and also when to use our protagonist’s name. Awkward reading ahead, hopefully I get used to it sooner rather than later.

This part will be the picture-filled part of Chapter 2 while the last half, not so much.

Summer Game Project Galaxy Angel Start!

My residence’s internet got cut off when a local landscapers cut the cord, so I lived without the computer’s convenience for around 3 days. In that time of boredom, I picked up a few games and started Trophy Whoring myself for a bit. Anyways, let’s get to the topic at hand.

Back when I was in Korea, I only had 2 anime channels. One showed the usual Naruto, Inuyasha, One Piece stuff while the other showed stuff like Fate Stay Night and notably, a quirky series called Galaxy Angel. Set in the distant future, it showed a cast of 5 girls who piloted advanced ships called Emblem Frames to track down Lost Technology, remnant technology from an ancient civilization long gone (think Mass Effect and its Prothean stuff). To be frank, Galaxy Angel was strictly a comedy series and it definitely stands amongst my favorite comedy series even to this day. I was very surprised to learn that it started out as a romance PC game, suprised because the anime series showed little to no male cast member. Because I liked the series, I tried to find some way to play it, and that only led me to the horribly skewed (but nevertheless hilarious) version on Newgrounds. Eventually, it faded from my memory.

Somehow, the love for the series came back to me out of the blue and during the summer of last year, and I was able to find the entirety of the first trilogy completely translated. I installed them on to my computer and cried for a bit because the cutscenes weren’t working but I started it up anyway. To be honest, I played these games a year ago and due to business and laziness, I was unable to post anything about it. So consider this a redemption post-series.

GA- Chapter 1

So in order to keep post count up high during my rather lethargic looking summer and keep myself active, I decided to undertake a near-daily posting schedule on covering the trilogy of the Galaxy Angel games. So click the button, let’s get started with Summer 2013’s Game Project: Galaxy Angel

Spring Anime Week 9-10

My computer’s internet got fried since Wednesday night and I was stuck planning out posts and what to do for summer since then. Other than usual academic stuff that I like to keep offhand to make sure I don’t forget too much, I decided to replay some of my games. I already Trophy Whored out Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 yesterday when I spent a good hour and a half unlocking all endings for the Gallery and spamming Crossover Counters and Triple Combo KO’s. I plan on tackling Metal Gear Solid 4 since I learned of its recent trophy update. But I have a more active plan for games over the summer and it involves the Gametalk I’ve been planning and that will commence as soon as this post is finished.

So due to time constraints and the sheer amount of work I need to catch up on before I proceed with my summer project, let’s get this stuff done real quick.

By quick, I mean Real.Quick.

Music of the Week #89

The delays! THE DELAAYS!

Music 8

Well I’ve mentioned in almost every post I have planned for this week that I had an internet mishap that left me blacked out in connection for a good 4-5 days. I have the Weekly Recaps in their collective format just to get the workload off from me and regular coverage will continue. I have one big announcement that relates to games and of course an obligatory ACEN + Figure post needing pictures, for now that’s all.

Trophy Whoring out Metal Gear Solid 4 after I spent a few good hours unlocking endings in UMVC3, and League-ing with my buddies

Music this week is continuing off our nearly done Fate Extra Soundtrack. This Week it’s the School 1 theme which actually plays as the second theme out of three that plays in the general school area. First one has its vibrant sax all out while the second one here had its piano. It plays during the middle weeks of the Holy Grail War. Enjoy

Music of the Week #88

My reckoning will come in a few weeks. I’ll be mentally dead in a while but that’s my problem

Music 8

Been busting my ass to get Dawn of War Soulstorm on my PC. As bad of a game as it is with shoddy voice work and a horrible cast of characters compared to the previous entries in the series, I only want to play it because I never did get around playing the Dark Eldars. The Sisters of Battle can go screw themselves because they’re basically Space Marines. I also want to try my hand out in the Campaign which I’ve never played as well. I loved Dark Crusade’s campaign and I plan on playing the Imperial Guard and Dark Eldar.

You can expect a figure post real quick, Weekly Updates to continue along with music, Gametalk will be continued, and the rest follows on. Not much to say here but hopefully I stay productive during the Summer. If everything goes as planned, me Light, and that other dude might actually start recording our conversations.

Anyways, we continue on with Fate Extra’s Soundtrack. This week’s theme is the School theme which will done in semi-proper order of appearance. While it is titled School 4, this is the school’s theme for the beginning weeks of the game. The jazzy sax is there but as the weeks go on, it gets even better.
