Hidan no Aria Episde 6-7 Review

Overdue, i can’t wish any faster to make this series end

No pics, nothing worth the time getting one

Well Shirayuki breaks down the door to murder Aria (yaay, rip her to shreds).  The two get into a fight that lasts a while.  Shirayuki happens to be a Psychic/ESP so she can easily repel Aria’s bullets.  Eventually, the two tire out, Kinji tries to lessen the tension but Shirayuki continues to bombard him with question on what the two of them have been doing.  After some dumb (but funny) and sexually related comments,  the night ends with Shirayuki’s leave

One of Kinji’s friends tells him of an event that will take place in their school, Kinji doesnt really care.  Later he trains with Aria regarding his other personality.  AFter some training, they leave for home

Shirayuki shows up at the house, she wants to partake in the harem as well.  Later, Kinji shares a conversation with Aria regarding her goal.  After finding who the Butei Killer was, she now hunts for Durandal, the one who put her mother in prison.

After some more bullshit i really dont care about the episode ends.

Take this time to compare the episode reviews i did with AB! and Zombie, see how much i hate this series?

Kinji in episode 7, stays at home sick.  Shirayuki, being the girl who is too emotional to even like anymore cries in relief that he is alive.  Later in school, the event (refer to last episode,oh wait same post) happens to have an afterparty.  Aria says that Shirayuki is in danger.  Kinji decides to acompany Shirayuki to the afterparty, then they go shopping for a yukata for her to wear.

I will not lie, they look cute.  However the girl is just too worrysome, moreso than i am

In the event, the only important thing that happens is that the two almost kiss.  Too bad.

Later, Shirayuki happens to be missing.  Kinji then runs around town trying to find her.  He tracks her down and finds her mysterious assailant.  The assailant showcases some form of Cyro-kinesis, or ice powers.  Shirayuki is dragged off, Kinji freezes on the ground.  Yaay end this series mystery person, however, Aria shows up to ruin it

Episode end, thank god im done with it

My List

Hi there.

So the last few weeks, I’ve been pretty much going all out and no-lifing a bunch of anime series. I’ll probably start reviewing a lot of them and others in the summer, but finals are keeping me grounded.
This is just a list as to what I’ve watched/am caught up to in the last two weeks:

Dog DaysDogs and animals fighting each other (pretty much it)
Hidan no Aria – People with cool shooting/cutting abilities
Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai – Fast paced, kind of confusing.
Ao no Exorcist – Satan’s son decides to become an exorcist.
Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi – Pure harem/comedy.
Ichigo 100% – A strawberry underwear-obsessed kid.
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou – Some kid destined to be Demon King.
Spice and Wolf, 1 & 2 – Merchant traveling with a wolf.
Sora no Otoshimono – Random angeloids bring random events.
Seto no Hanayome – Shit, I married a mermaid…?
STAR DRIVER Kagayaki no Takuto – Weird series overall… hero always wins.
Dragon Crisis – Short, kind of strange, and rather boring. Sorry.
Seitokai Yakuindomo – Gotta love school life in an all-girls school.
Guardian Hearts – Pure harem/comedy.
Kaze no Stigma – About a wind-user who’s pretty boss.

List of Absolute Favorites
Sekirei, 1 & 2 – Ongoing, season 3 probable. Manga updates are monthly (one or two every month)
Baka to Test to Shokanju – Season 2 confirmed
Angel Beats – Season 2 supposedly coming out in the spring… yet still not here.
Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? – Most likely having a season 2, depends on popularity.
The World God Only Knows, 1& 2 – Manga ongoing, updates weekly; season 2 new episodes weekly.
Infinite Stratos – 7 Unscanned volumes, not found anywhere online, have to buy them. Chances are 50-50 for a season 2. <— F-F-F-F-FFFFFUUUUUUUUU
Bakemonogatari – Rather boring at first, one of the best endings I’ve seen, though.
Toaru Majutsu no Index – Waiting on season 3
Needless – Amazing series, I think the manga is still going on. Hilarious comedy, little skirt-chasing, etc. Good overall, anime ending was ehh.

Edit 4: Now that’s 24.

See you later, peeps.

Unfortunately, this week was quite busy with me and my brother (who returned from California) came back to Illinois to spend the summer working in the Windy City.

I was unable to post or even watch a few anime until this weekend.  However, saturday and friday I hung out with me and my bro’s friends and this sunday i went to Anime Central.  I will post pics on it and then review anime by next week.

Also, Brad (Light) or the other dude who works here has literally started watching 20 different series and he says he will review them all this summer (or at least a few) He bought an Infinite Stratos Mug at the anime convention so, he really likes the characters while he hates the series.

Expect double episode reviews next time and some pics of cosplay.

Bleach: Then and Now

This is the first analysis i’ve made in this blog and the first that will be discussed will be Bleach: by Tite KuboFile:Bleach cover 01.jpg

Bleach started in August of 2001, back then, i didn’t know it even existed.  Only when i came (back) to America in 2006 did i see it for the first time.  Bleach is the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager gifted with the sight of seeing spirits.  His mother died when he was young by a malevolent spirit and he blames himself for her death.  Ichigo lives with his eccentric father, his down-to-earth young sister along with anoter sister who has a brother complex.  One fateful night, he meets Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper.  Soul Reapers are those who govern the souls who move into the Afterlife.  Rukia explains that she is here to hunt down Hollows, a soul that has turned evil and remained in the human world for too long.  When a huge Hollow appears, Rukia is critically injured, she proposes the idea of giving half of her spirit energy (called Reiatsu) to Ichigo to combat the Hollow.  Instead, he takes all of it and destroys the Hollow without much effort.  With her powers gone, Ichigo takes Rukia’s place as a Soul Reaper to protect the town from Hollows and guide the afterlife into the “Soul Society” where spirits and the Soul Reapers reside.

During the time he stays as the Soul Reaper, Rukia spends her time as a regular highschool student and tries to fit in with the local school.  Ichigo then learns that a few of his classmates have spiritual powers of their own.  Orihime Inoue, the ditzy airhead of the class possesses the ability to defend, attack, and heal with her hairpins. Yatsutora Sado, a tall teenager of Mexican descent holds the ability to manifest the powers of Hollows onto his arms.  Finally, Uryu Ishida, A Quincy (ancient enemies of the Soul Reapers) that has the abilties of forming energy bows and arrows.  Ichigo is taught by Kisuke Urahara, a lazy but brilliant, ex-soul reaper who teaches him on his powers.

After time passes, The high ranking Soul Reapers find what Rukia has been doing and seeing as Ichigo has gained her powers, they sentence her to death by sharing their powers with humans.  The Soul Society send one of their 13 Court Guards (specfically, the 6th Division) to reclaim her and bring her back to the Soul Society.  Ichigo is defeated by one of the Squad’s officers.  Ichigo then takes his friends and heads to the Soul Society to stop Rukia’s execution.  However, even more calamity starts as Ichigo and his friends enter the spiritual world but after a few weeks of hard training.  With the help of former Soul Society captain, Yoruichi, they are succesful in infiltrating the Soul Society.

The 13 Court Guards then discuss their plans to halt the intruders.  As they do so, Ichigo and his crew gets help from some misfits in the Soul Society to catapault them directly into the Court Guard headquarters.  However, they fail and are seperated.  The seperated friends then fend off the numerous officers and captains that try to stop them in their tracks.  Even more chaos begins when a high ranking S.S member (no not the Nazis..) is assassinated.  Conspiracies and civil unrest breaks out in the Soul Society as well.  Ichigo confronts Renji Abarai, the soul reaper who beat his ass in the human world, ad renji gets beaten.  Seeing how he fails Rukia, he decides to save her as well.

With a lot of fightin, between the intruders and amongst the soul reaper ranks, Renji confronts his captain, who is the semi older brother of Rukia.  Renji unleashes his most powerful attacks on his superior, only to be completely owned.  After EVEN MORE fighting and betrayals, Ichigo confronts his most powerful enemy, Byakuya Kuchiki.   The two fight for atleast 2-4 episodes and Ichigo stands victorious and the execution is halted, only through the sudden appearence of Aizen Sousuke, the captain that was assassinatd.  He reveals that all of this was part of his grand scheme and he takes a sacred artifact of the S.S and takes 2 of his friends (both captains) to the world of Hollows.  The war is over, but a whole new one is approaching the horizon.

Now that was when Bleach was actually good.  After this arc, Bleach falls into more fights as the entire Soul Society get into fights with the Hollow-esque version of the 13 Court Guards named the Espadas. Suddenly Bleach goes Spanish and we are introduced to yet another group called the Vizards, Ex S.S members who embraced the powers of both Hollows and Soul Reaper.  Ichigo is once again pulled into the world of spirits as Orihime is kidnapped by Aizen’s forces and he must fight through another batch of bastards to get her back and finally confront Aizen.

He eventually trains enouh offscreen and kills a bunch of characters to become completely overpowered and destroys Aizen without even trying.  However, due to the excess power he used, he loses his Soul Reaper powers.  Now a completely new arc focusing on Ichigo and his powerless form begins, and then i stopped reading

Shit, 866 words on just explaining the damn thing, now time for the Analysis part.

Bleach during the first part with the balance of plot and actio, was the best.  The unique feature was that it focused onIchigo’s group of friends.  The SoulReapers were an oddity, but even to them, Ichigo and his friends’ powers were an oddity as well.  So it was the freak among freaks.  It was an original concept and something was there that made Ichigo’s group more fun to watch.  Then there was the fighting amongst soul reapers as well.  There was a sense of mystery present throughout the first part.  In series’ second part, Ichigo undergoes through the “Dragonball ” phase where he learns the most powerful form, only to learns he can be even more powerful.  It just got repetitive.  Fights after another.  I admit seeing the different abilities of the Soul Reapers were cool, but it just got outta hand, and there were so many characters, i couldnt keep track.  I seriously thought the series would end where Aizen gets owned.  But no, it keeps going….

Bleach was original during the first run, special characters in an already special enviroment.  If they focused on the main 4 characters with their unique powers some more, that would be more fun, instead give the rest of the cast who are already powerful enough 98 percent of screentime with barely any background (okay some have background)

I actually had more planned for the final analysis but i guess i forgot em.   Thats th first analysis, if i remember what i was going to say, you know where to check (for you idiots, the answer is back here in this post)

Small Announcement

Small announcements for all of you

First of all, for those who want to see my Hidan no Aria review, its right below, barely any pics cause i didnt really like it. too bad

Second: I’m going to start doing something OTHER than reviews.  Because most of the current stuff is crap, and im desperate to find a summer anime to review at all.  So here it is

Classics: I’m going to review old anime for the 90’s and the early 2000’s why? because they were awesome.  Currently, on [adultswim], every saturday, they show 2 cowboy bebop episodes.  And guess what, next week is the finale.  And im finally going to finish the series off and give it an overdue review.  Another animes will follow

Analysis: Im going to compare a manga/anime that is currently airing (and that was aired for a while).  For example, Bleach.  Bleach started out extremely well and focused on the odd ones that made the series unique.  Now its all about the Soul Reapers.

Expect posts like that soon!

Hidan no Aria Episode 5 Review

I wonder when the one on the left will show up cause everyone else fits the archtype perfectly.

Well the episode is pretty short, considering its mostly action

Remember, the less pics, the less i liked the episode

Well going back to last episode’s events, ARIA GOT SHOT, SHE DIED, KINJI GOT IT ON WITH RIKO.  Okayonly one of those did not happen and one of them ALMOST happened.  Well we continue with Aria getting shot.  Riko laughs in victory while Kinji escapes, carrying Aria’s body.  Kinji is able to escape and remain hidden from Riko, but not for long.  Kinji pulls out a stimpack and is able to get her back and functional.  Aria wakes up and begins her tsun mode again, much to my annoyance.  She tantrums for a while until Kinji really needs to shut her up, with a nice little kiss.  Aria is silenced and Kinji is gets into his badass mode.

Riko eventually finds Kinji’s location.  Riko suspects that Aria is in the room.  Kinji then reveals that he hid an oxygen tank.  Kinji engages in combat, but Riko is able to locate Aria’s hiding place.  Aria springs out and disarms Riko.  However, the plane is going down.  Riko escapes, Kinji gives chase while Aria tries to land the plane (is there anything she cant do?)

While Aria is piloting, Kinji hunts down Riko for some questioning.  Before Kinji can get any real answers for his questions, she is able to escape.  AFter some bigass trajectorizing involving the plane landin, and some cheesey lines, the plane i landed, and Kinji’s arm is busted.  The two are back in the apartment.  Aria thanks for all the work Kinji has done.

Before they can both fully rest from all the crazy shit that happend, theres a knock on the door…actually more like a breakdown.  A sword slashes through the door  and its Kinji’s semi-crazy girlfriend, Shirayuki and boy does she look pissed, she thinks that Aria is a like a terrorist.  With sword in hand she charges at them, oh boy

Yeah one pic, i really have nothing to say.  Action episode.Aria’s a bitch.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica Review

You would think that i wouldn’t watch this sorta thing.  Well with the internet swelling up with praise and admiration for such a series, i really had to see what the fuss was about.

Madoka (as i will address through the entirety of the review) is possibly the greatest series that aired this winter.  But because i am who i am, Zombie gets my place as #1, while madoka ranks 2-3, i forgot what aired that season.   Madoka is one of the Mahou Shoujo series, or magical girls.  A notable example? Sailor moon.  While many examples of Mahou Shoujo involve romance/drama/fanservice, Madoka frankly sets the bar for some new ones.

Madoka to put it simply, about a girl named Kaname Madoka, her friend Sayaka and the unforgiving world of the Puella Magi.  A strange creature is able to grant a single wish to a girl, in return, the girl must become a puella magi, who fight against witches that are responsible for deaths and murders.  A creature named Kyubey comes before the 2 girls and offers them to become puella magi.

The girls’ upperclassmen, Tomoe Mami, who herself is a puella magi gives them pointers and teaches them the basics of being one, if however if they decide to become one that is.  Before all of this happened, Madoka saw a girl in her dreams, and when a girl name Akemi Homura appears in her classroom the next day, Madoka is scared on what has just happened. Madoka must now choose the her future, lead an ordinary life, or lead a life that would change everything.

Due to plot reasons, i really will not go further.

If theres one word to sum up the entire series, the word is: Unexpected.  Why? well lemme ramble some more.

The first notable thing about this series is that the art, is just gorgeous.  Animation is smooth and it really stands out.  Other than that, the main focus of the series, is its story.  Even i was taken aback when certain scenes showed.  This show is DARK, not grimdark, but just DARK.  For all the happy mahou shoujo genre series, this series puts itself up on its own as a seperate category.  The story has to do with TIME PARADOX! and “dark” truths.  I really have nothing else to comment on, its good, really good, deserves a medal or atleast 4 honorable mentions.

To be perfectly honest, without discussing the darker parts of the show and the ending, i really cant say anything.  Spoiling such a great story, i really dont want to spoil this series, especially something so rare

Go give it a looksee, unlike K-On which i never saw the point of, this series stands out from the pile of cliches these days.

imma make an announcement later when i review HoA later this week
