Game/Figure Wishlist + ACEN: Two and a half days of hunger and sore feet

Lemme get this post done quickly

First things first: Kore wa Zombie, Gametalk, a post about this site’s affiliate/new friend, and etc in that order shall be posted

Anyways, to make a long story short, ACEN was a complete source of awesome. Bunch of cosplay, crap to buy, and a crapton of people. Full story of my 2 and a half day expedition will probably end up in the Author’s Corner. The con was literally walking around. Looking for stuff to buy, stuff to eat, take pictures off, get autographs, attend panels. At least my crew had a nice place to rest when the day was over.

But it was the SHIT, and I spent a hundred dollars less (by not bringing my entire bag o money) than I intended. Even without the shopping scene, it was a hilarious and worthwhile experience.

Either way, I bought a picture, a mug, shirt, artbook, signed ACEN badge, a game, and a figure (which one? well, find out)

Pictures ahead

Posts to Come

Small Post :D

Well, I have a few stuff to say here:

Due to time constraints, pure laziness, races to compete in, lost interest on the topic at hand, and Diablo 3: I decided to compress the 3 series I have left to review into a few sentences

  1. Papa to Ikuoto: I was actually entertained with this. For once, I was happy without the fanservice in this one. Entertaining series, someone send Sak to jail though.
  2. Amagami SS +: Without a doubt, the first season was superior, but that goes without saying. They could only do so much with the second season. Still nice to see the characters though.
  3. Nisemonogatari: This really deserves its own post but I apologize, too much work for me right now. Nisemono was…alright. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of incestuous toothbrushing (err whatever), I still found the style and dialogue entertaing from the returning cast. But I will admit, I liked Bakemonogatari better.

With that, the series reviews are unofficially done.

With my brother absent from the house again, I can resume with a faster blogging schedule. So with that over here’s yet another list of what I will be working on

  • ANIME CENTRAL is a day away, if you’re going: We’ll see you there, not like you could identify us anyway :D. Picture might be posted
  • Kore wa Zombie will be covered by me, sorry for the late update but if the worst happens, it probably will have to be double reviewed
  • Gametalk
  • Game Wishlists
  • More figure wishlists
  • I’m thinking of a few editorials but they also corollate with the music posts so, give me some time on this one.
  • Angel Beats! Heaven’s Door got updated again, so expect a small coverage on that.
  • If I get through those fast enough, Top Characters will probably be done to fill in the gaps between the weeks.

For the basic preview of the game wishlist, check out the Author’s Corner which finally got updated.

What can I say?

I’m done here folks, expect the next post to be late in the weekend or early next week.  (No pics cause I still need to organize a few more things)

Music of the Week #29-30

Standard

Whole family was downstairs working and my week was filled with my busy family going around everywhere preparing for my brother’s departure. Yes, my brother is gone, so work is back in session for me.

So I apologize, but I really have a lot of work to do, plus, I have Anime Central to attend for the weekend, so yeah.

Here are last week’s and this week’s music

The first one is the opening for: Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok. It was a wierdass series but I definitely remember the opening cause I use to watch it a lot. For those of you who do not know, Loki is known as the God of Mischief. He has both helped and screwed over the gods in Asgard and his brood would be a crucial component for Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods. His 3 children were Jormungand, the Midgard Serpent who is said to be able to encircle the world and bite its own tail (reference to the Greek symbol of Ouroboros), Fenrir, the great wolf that is fated to kill Odin, and Hel, the ruler of the underworld. The series itself wasn’t amazing but the intro stayed with me in my head for a long while. Loki in this anime is basically a small boy but he can change his form into an adult form. But like I said, I don’t remember this series so well when it comes to the actual plot.

And this one which I believe I don’t need to explain

Yes these are a random assortment but I have something planned for the future of the music posts so

Yeah, expect another update sooner or later detailing what I plan to post for the weeks to come.

Aniblog Tourney: This Site vs Subdued Fangirling

Standard

So if you didn’t notice, this site somehow ended up in the Aniblog Tourney a month back.

OH IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG
not really :P

Because I’m the pessimistic bastard I am, I am DAMN sure that my opponent Subdued Fangirling has got this in the bag, unless some crazy things happen, but I doubt that. Anyways, I never expected anything to come out of this blog, other than a few comments that lead to discussions around series me and Light generally like. It’s a big honor for me being in the damn thing, I would be happy if I just got a nomination or just an honorable mention (I’m sure they don’t have brackets like those but yeah, you get my point don’t you?)

Hell, I would have actually forgotten about the Tourney if it wasn’t for the large number of views this site got in terms of referrers on my site stats. Another link I happened to notice is the blog highlights at Metanorn. Metanorn wrote a small segment on the participants of this…week’s/section’s bloggers against eachother. So I decided to read what they said about this site.

What I immediately picked up was the videogame editorials. I also heard from Mystia a while ago that videogame segments were kind of the “highlights” of this site. I forgot if I ever told any of the readers that I’m more of a videogamer than I am an anime watcher. If I had the choice, I would much rather talk about games but due to my low cashpool, I really can’t buy games at a frequent rate to review or talk about them. Anime was my next choice in my blogging topic because I naturally enjoyed it and it was free on the internet.

While the point below this paragraph came up first, I wanted to address the issue of this being “cluttered”. Is it the two side-bars? The overuse of pictures? Too many categories or blogroll links? My Shu icon? I can perfectly understand the cluttered nature of this site. But they did mention that they got used to it sooner or later.

What I also caught was that our (well, mostly me cause I’m the only one posting) episodic reviews were really not up to par compared to the series review. I actually expected something like this to come out sooner or later. When I do my episodic reviews on a series, something in the back of my head says: DUDE, you’re just summarizing the damn thing, you’re not really “reviewing” it, you’re just “covering” it. I’m glad that they pointed that out, cause if they didn’t I probably would have continued on battering myself subconsciously. It’s really been a while since anyone ever criticized this site. I don’t know if you guys are just being nice or not wanting to offend me but having some harsh criticism from time to time will help me in the long run anyway. Yes, I won’t completely enjoy them or respond back without a some hostility (Meh, really depends how people word it) but harsh criticism is like medicine, it’s gonna be bitter but it’s going to help you get better.

Anyways, congrats to Subdued Fangirling again cause you’ve got this and I hope you will last in the tourney

I’m not sure at the moment how long the polls are going to be there but if you have the time and are a “supporter” of this lazy-ass site, feel free to vote for us

Those are my parting words, I will try to get some more posts done :D

Oh yeah, just because this site got praised for its game editorials, I better make a new one :D

Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? of the Dead Episode 1-2 Review

Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? of the Dead Episode 1-2 Review

It’s back and I’m two weeks late, so let’s not waste any time

For those who haven’t watched the first season, here’s a quick recap:

Aikawa Ayumu is one of the bro-est main character in a harem series and one day, the peace and quiet of his everyday life is ruined when he gets his ass murdered by a local serial killer. However, he is resurrected as a zombie by a cute necromancer named Eucliwood Hellscythe. They live together for a few months and then Aikawa’s life takes a more crazy path. Aikawa meets a magical girl named Haruna fighting a monster called a “megalo”. He gets chopped up in the middle of their brawl and once the battle is over, Haruna tries to heal him but he somehow drains her of her magic. Now he has a necromancer and a magic-less magical girl staying at his house. To spice more things up: VAMPIRE NINJAS (3 OF THEM). One is disgusted by him(Seraphim), one is basically married to him (Maelstrom), and one later develops an ass fetish for him(Sarasvati). Somewhere along there is a plot that consists of finding Aikawa’s killer and another zombie that was resurrected by Eu. Finding Aikawa’s killer introduced two more characters: Ariel, the teacher of all magical girls and Kyoko, one of the students of Ariel who went rogue. In the sidelines are Aikawa’s classmates: Taeko(the only “regular” girl who likes Aikawa), Kanami, Orito, and Shimomura(something special about this guy here).

Some small light novel spoilers in regarding (some) characters

With that over, let’s do this thing
